About The Work
My work celebrates the beauty of the female form and spirit. I strive for my work to be uplifting, celebratory and aesthetically pleasing, yet rich in complexity, causing the viewer to repeatedly return to the piece to find something new. My aesthetic sense springs from a wonder at the variety and mystery of the body’s physical reality and abstract potential.
My photography is exclusively black and white because most people see in color and black and white photography offers a different view of the world and allows the viewer to see elements of beauty that are often missed during the ordinary course of life. The high contrast of black and white photography forces the viewer to focus on the interplay of light and shadow as well as textural detail. I exploit the precision of the medium to capture the subtleties of the female form and the allure that each person holds. What makes black and white photography so interesting and exciting is that just a line or the slightest shadow or gleam of light can significantly influence the piece.
